What will you be – a Plunger or a Chicken? Plungers brave the cold New England weather and hurl themselves into the icy Atlantic Ocean on Plunge day. Chickens relax in the aptly named Chicken Coop with warm coats and hot beverages. While each group may chide the other on their respective decisions, they share the most important common trait – the desire to raise money to support the 12,168 Athletes of Special Olympics Massachusetts which includes over 85 Athletes from BRIDGEWELL.
Each Plunger should register in advance of the event through the website www.PolarPlungeMA.org. Make sure you register under Bridgewell because your $25 registration fee and all donations you receive will go directly to Team Bridgewell’s Account to afford the cost of uniforms, training and competition fees for OUR Athletes!!
Once registered, each Plunger is given a free Polar Plunge website, to help raise donations spread the news about how their support makes a difference for the Bridgewell Team.
On Plunge Day March 3, all Plungers will check in at 10 AM, turn in their donations and receive a T-shirt if they meet the $250 fundraising minimum.
At about 11:15AM all costumed Plungers will participate in the costume parade, with winners being announced at the post-Plunge awards ceremony.
Then, it’s into the ocean at approximately 12noon! Volunteers will be on hand to direct Plungers and assist as needed as everyone takes a quick mid-winter dip!

Thank you in advance for your support!
