Lois Hayes shines at Bridgewell and on the stage of many entertainment venues on the North Shore.
For six months, Lois worked as a direct support professional at a Bridgewell residence and then transferred to the Lynnway Day Habilitation program in October. She leads a music group and incorporates healthy living objectives with the individuals, specifically with a walking group.
Right now, Lois and the individuals have a goal to walk 21,400 steps (the distance from the Lynnway to Bunker Hill monument). Once they reach their goal, they’ll celebrate with a healthy picnic at the monument.
In her leisure time, Lois is the lead singer of Lois Lane & The Daily Planets. The band will be opening up the Fourth of July Firework Celebration at Red Rock Park in Lynn – an event many of the individuals in our programs look forward to attending each year!
In addition to working at Bridgewell, she is the North Shore Community College Project Access music teacher. NSCC Project Access provide college classes to adults with developmental disabilities to enrich and enhance their lives with new opportunities for learning, personal growth, and community integration.
She volunteers with Bridgewell’s Adult Recreation program performing at many events including Elvis’ Birthday Celebration and the whole band joined in on holiday fun at a Christmas Concert at the Lynnway.
We are so proud to have Lois as an employee, and she goes above and beyond for Bridgewell and the entire community.
