Our vast array of residential services provides support to individuals with developmental and physical disabilities, individuals who are dually diagnosed with psychiatric disabilities and the aging population. Specialty services are provided for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease, those who are hearing impaired and those with extensive medical health challenges.
Our core purpose is assisting people to lead and direct their own lives. We are dedicated to ensuring that our homes create the conditions for developing, sustaining and strengthening relationships among residents, in the community and with family members and friends.
Our residential services include permanent housing, supported living in single-family homes and apartment settings, and emergency respite housing.
All services are provided based on individual choice and decision making and emphasize a holistic approach to service delivery.
We have over 65 residences and supported living sites in 16 communities north of Boston including Lynn, Lynnfield, Wakefield, Saugus, Peabody, Danvers, Beverly, Swampscott, Salem, Lowell, Chelmsford, Dracut, Tewksbury, Billerica, Haverhill and Merrimac.
Residential Services for People with Developmental
Disabilities
Bridgewell provides around-the-clock well-trained, direct-care staff to support individuals living in residences across the communities listed above. Homes accommodate on average 4 or 5 individuals and offer private bedrooms and shared living space. Together, we explore creative options that allow each person autonomy, privacy and independence.
Residential Services for People with Psychiatric
Disabilities
Bridgewell provides residential supports in Lowell for individuals with varying psychiatric disabilities including, but not limited to, dual diagnoses, substance abuse disorders, bipolar disorders and other chronic psychiatric illnesses. Bridgewell provides around-the-clock, well trained, direct-care staff to support individuals who reside in private rooms with shared living space. Staff provide residents with access to treatment and rehabilitation to help them build stable, independent and meaningful lives. The mutual goal is for residents to eventually transition to less-supported living situations.
Supported Living
Our supported-living program provides housing and support for people with developmental disabilities who are able to live more independently. Individuals live on their own or with a roommate, primarily in subsidized housing units in northeastern Massachusetts. Bridgewell staff assists with obtaining health care, medication management, nutrition, household chores, financial management and community recreational and social participation. Each person’s support level is based on individual need and preference.
Emergency Respite Housing
Bridgewell's emergency respite program is designed for individuals with developmental and/or psychiatric disabilities who are in crisis. Bridgewell staff provides a myriad of services to help stabilize the individual's situation. Around-the-clock, well-trained direct-care staff provide support and assistance in many areas including medication management, healthcare coordination, financial management, therapy services, daily activities of living and social and recreational activities.
