“We are so excited to have honored Pat and Julie at this year’s gala,” said Bob Stearns, Bridgewell President & CEO. “We are gratified by the ability to put on a gala that will help grow our donor base, and enable us to meet the needs of adults with intellectual disabilities, mental illness, addiction and other life challenges including those who are homeless.”

Pat McGrath, owner of McGrath Enterprises of Lynn, received the Visionary Leadership award. He has partnered with Bridgewell for over 10 years to build customized residences and enhance commercial sites, while supporting the people Bridgewell cares for through his philanthropy.

“It’s an honor to be recognized by an organization with such an important mission,” said McGrath. “Since partnering with Bridgewell over 10 years ago on a range of projects, I have seen firsthand the impact this organization has on so many people’s lives. I am thrilled to be part of that effort.”

Dr. Julie Moran received the Excellence in Service award. Dr. Moran is a geriatrician who specializes in older adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She runs two outpatient specialty clinics for older adults with these disabilities that are served by the Massachusetts Department of Developmental services, and is a consultant for patients admitted to Tewksbury Hospital. Dr. Moran has served many Bridgewell clients, and is a Clinical instructor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School.

“Adults with intellectual disabilities are living longer than ever before.  It has been my privilege to have a career devoted to this wonderful population and to work closely with Bridgewell to help their clients with concerns that arise as they grow older,” said Dr. Moran. “I am honored to receive this award and I look forward to continuing to partner with Bridgewell to serve their clients in the future.”
