Melissa Bridges-Pata, Residential Supervisor
Melissa has worked for Bridgewell for more than 8 years. After beginning her career at Bridgewell as a Program Director at Federal Street, Melissa was promoted into her current role as a Residential Supervisor in January of 2008.
In her current role, she manages six residential homes, including Bridgewell’s first medically intensive home with 24 hour nursing that recently opened in March 2011. Every day, the Residential Supervisor position brings unique challenges, so Melissa never really has a “typical day.” She states, “When working with people, everything is important. You can only do so many things in one day, so you have to prioritize.” She focuses on maintaining good communication, addressing any clinical issues and spending as much time as possible at each program.
Every day that she spends with the individuals in her programs she is reminded of why it is so important to put them first. “Everything we do revolves around their needs, hopes and dreams.” Through her strong leadership, she helps guide individuals through life whether it is connecting people to the community, building skills, learning new things or coping with sickness and end of life. While doing this, Melissa has realized that working at Bridgewell helps you find yourself – the best self you can be.
She attended Gordon College and studied social work and fine art. Originally from New Hampshire, in her spare time, Melissa enjoys listening to music and oil painting.
