Employee Spotlight

Carl Baker, Residential Supervisor

Carl Baker has worked for Bridgewell for more than four years. He is a Residential Supervisor for several of Bridgewell’s programs on the North Shore.

After he graduated from UMass Boston with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Psychology, he worked in architectural design, but ultimately returned to work in human services. He loves the feeling of working to improve the lives of others, and feels blessed to have a job he enjoys and cares deeply about at Bridgewell.

“My favorite part of the job is nurturing the bonds that are created between the individuals, the families, staff, the day programs, etc.,” said Carl. “There is a web of care that exists and being part of that is incredible.”

Carl believes what originally started as a job has blossomed into a career at Bridgewell. Last spring, Carl completed a certificate program in Leadership Studies from North Shore Community College, and is currently working on his Master’s in Public Administration at Suffolk University.

When he’s not working, Carl enjoys being outdoors and likes to hike and kayak with friends. He dreams of owning a sailboat and sailing down the East Coast to the Florida Keys.
