CEO Message
Welcome to Bridgewell’s new web site!
We continue to develop new ways for individuals, families, staff, donors, and community leaders to strengthen our common network – in person and online. Well before the internet, Facebook, Twitter, and blogs, Bridgewell was a resource for adults with special needs. Today, we harness new technologies and other initiatives, to continue to expand our more than 50-year role as a leading provider of highest quality services to adults with disabilities in Eastern Massachusetts.
Those of you who have worked with us know how we have tackled the challenges of our economic environment. The recession has put pressure on all our funding sources at a time when the need for our services has never been greater. But every day, the enthusiasm and successes of the individuals in our services validate that we are the right people at the right time in the right place. Our hard-working and dedicated staff of more than 900, our donors, our clients’ families and our community partners make all the difference as we work daily to support individuals as they strive to reach their fullest potential.
Those of you who are new to Bridgewell and are new visitors to this site will soon realize how deeply committed we are to meeting the changing needs of adults with developmental disabilities. You will learn of our innovative approaches to specialized services throughout our clients’ lifetimes. You will come to appreciate our sophisticated and collaborative strategies, working with all levels of government and all aspects of the community, to provide a continuum of services.
Every day we serve thousands of individuals, including hundreds living in more than 60 residential settings. Whether we are helping the homeless transition to permanent housing, customizing homes to fit an individual’s needs, offering fulfilling day programs and employment training to those wishing to expand their possibilities, providing counseling to those who need professional support, or meeting the special needs of people with disabilities like Alzheimer’s….Bridgewell is there. At every step of the way, we work with providers, families and others to support people in leading full and meaningful lives. This is skilled and caring teamwork at its very best!
Our mission is to connect people with possibilities. If you share this vision, if you can feel our enthusiasm and optimism, please join us in our efforts. Sign-up for our e-communications.
